Australia's Star Group announced on Is foreign exchange finance a scam?Wednesday that Steve McCann will officially assume the roles of Chief Executive Officer and General Manager on July 8.
McCann previously served as CEO and General Manager at Crown Resorts, a casino operator under the Blackstone Group, and held senior management positions at the real estate developer, Lendlease.
He will succeed Interim Group Chief Financial Officer Neale O'Connell, who was recently appointed as Acting CEO.
McCann stated, "I look forward to joining the Star Group at this critical juncture. I am aware of the many complex issues and challenges the company faces."
The cash-strapped casino operator is under regulatory scrutiny, striving to retain its gambling license for its Sydney casino.
The Star Group experienced a series of management changes earlier this year, with the most recent departure being Chairman David Foster, who left the company in April.
